South Africa, 28 January 2022: The National Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA) takes pleasure in announcing that Alex Boavida has taken over sole responsibility as Vice-Chairperson of the Association. She was elected as Joint Vice-Chairperson with Marcia Mayaba at the NADA AGM, which took place in the last quarter of 2021. Her appointment as sole Vice-Chairperson takes effect immediately.
The announcement follows the departure of Marcia, who has embarked on a new role within the Manufacturing sector of the automotive industry, consequently bringing to an end her tenure as the Vice Chairperson of NADA.
“We are grateful to Marcia for her transformational leadership during her term, especially in her role as Chairperson of the NADA Transformation Committee. The dedication, time and effort she has put into the association during her tenure is truly appreciated. We wish her well on her new journey and look forward to the possibility of working with her on the manufacturing side of this vibrant industry,” says Mark Dommisse, Chairperson of NADA.
Alex is the Dealer Principal of Mercedes-Benz Sandton, the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM’s) flagship store situated at 92 Rivonia Road, Sandton, Gauteng. It is the first dealership of its kind in the world and the biggest on the continent.
“I’m honoured to serve as Vice-Chairperson. The NADA has played a key role in helping our industry weather this incredibly challenging pandemic. I look forward to working alongside Mark, the NEC and our many stakeholders as we recover and grow in these rapidly developing times,” says Boavida.
