With South Africa Auto Week 2023 energising the industry, NADA Chair, Brandon Cohen, led the round table panel discussion on the transport policy topics supporting and promoting road safety.
The highly topical implementation of AARTO in 2024 is not seen as a silver bullet, but an element of a broader basket of interventions that would include improved violation enforcement at ground level, upgrading the safety standards within the country’s ageing car park and educating and influencing a culture of road safety among all South Africans.
The panel comprised Brandon, Sandile Ntseoane – CEO SAVRALA , Duncan Mutengwe – Acting CEO NRC and Layton Beard – Media and Communication Specialist at the Automobile Association of South Africa.
