Electric Vehicles Shine at Beijing Auto Show!

Automakers geared up to unveil 117 new models at this year’s Beijing Auto Show, surpassing the 93 models presented at last year’s event in Shanghai. In total, 278 new energy vehicles (NEVs) were on display, an increase of seven from the previous year, according to the show organisers.

The show coincides with a significant milestone for NEV sales in China. Data from the auto association revealed that NEVs accounted for over 50% of all cars sold in the country in early April.

This surge in sales has been fueled by a year-long price war, which has squeezed profit margins but pushed automakers to introduce newer, more affordable models and a variety of promotions to stay competitive.
