Turning Insights into Action
It’s hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by. Since our Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) Awards earlier this year, we’ve been encouraged by the positive momentum the study has created across our industry. The response from our key stakeholders – Manufacturers, Importers, and Distributors – has been overwhelmingly fruiƞul, with several productive engagements already having taken place, including one with a global Dealership Director of a major OEM.
This is exactly what the DSI was designed to do – open conversations and not to point fingers. The DSI is not a stick. It’s a mirror. One that reflects the opportunities for both dealers and their franchisors to build on what’s working and to strengthen the areas that need attention.
Across all discussions and results, one key theme continues to emerge. Communication is everything. Real partnership requires dialogue that flows both ways, not one that is purely instructional or top-down. The most successful dealer networks are those where OEMs and dealers share a common goal of growing the brand, together.
As we carry this spirit of collaboration forward, we’re already looking ahead to #NADAConnect in March 2026 – a valuable opportunity for dealers to reconnect, exchange insights, and continue shaping the future of our industry.
The theme is Be Inspired. Gain Insights. Drive Results. Don’t miss a powerful morning designed to help you elevate your dealership. Secure your front-row seat today and connect with fellow dealers, industry leaders and key stakeholders. Best of all, attendance is free, thanks to the generous support of our #NADAConnect sponsors:
Automate, Cars.co.za, Lightstone, NADA, Tracker, and WesBank.
Let’s keep building on this momentum, through open communication, mutual respect and a shared commitment to strengthening South Africa’s automotive retail sector.

BIDVEST MCCARTHY BRUMA PAYS TRIBUTE TO CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
October marks Cancer Awareness Month — a time to reflect not only on prevention and treatment but also on the far-reaching impact of this disease. Cancer doesn’t affect only the individual diagnosed; it touches families, friends, colleagues, and communities in profound and lasting ways.
Cancer’s influence extends deep into every part of life — home, relationships, and the workplace — reshaping daily routines and emotional landscapes. At home, families often face emotional strain, financial pressure, and the challenge of balancing caregiving with everyday responsibilities. Socially, patients may experience isolation as they navigate fatigue and treatment side effects, yet friends and communities play a powerful role in offering strength, understanding, and encouragement. In the workplace, cancer can affect productivity and confidence, making open communication and supportive policies essential.
Awareness and early detection are critical — they save lives and help families prepare for what lies ahead. Organizations like CANSA Bedfordview provide valuable guidance and resources, while community compassion helps ease both the emotional and practical burdens of the journey. Together, understanding and support truly make all the difference.
In honour of Cancer Awareness Month, the team at Bidvest McCarthy Bruma reflected on the ripple effects of cancer across home, work, and community life. A heartfelt thank you to Ravi Perumal for championing cancer awareness, and to Michael Needham for courageously sharing his personal experience.
